Tea Bag Art by Judy Wood
Judy Wood is a mixed media artist and poet. She lives in the Arizona desert. She studied painting at Arizona State University and earned her BFA in painting and has a Masters Degree in education. Poetry is an extension of her art; painting pictures with words. Judy loves nature and is especially inspired by the rain, sunrise and sunset, and the night sky. She has self published an autobiographical book of poetry, a chapbook of micropoetry, and a photo book called #Skywatch.

Tea bag art became popular a few years ago. The small format inspires one to think about how the space is used to create a complete work of art. Tea bags add texture and muted color and make a durable substrate when added to sturdy watercolor paper. Judy Wood creates 2D and 3D artwork using tea bags and other recycled materials. Using nature as inspiration, she’s completed over 100 pieces in under two years. Several of her pieces were recently featured in an art show in CT and subsequent video to be used in educational settings worldwide.
