      Flanking the ascending Virgin (Gala) in Dali's "Assumpta Corpuscularia Lapislazulina" is a massive storm of rhinoceros horns -- some dematerializing -- meant to symbolize Dali's fascination with the mathematics of the logarithmic curve, of which rhino horns are a naturally occurring example. However, Dali's leading patron once remarked that the rhino horns in this large painting were an ugly distraction from an otherwise beautiful work. What's your take on this? - This question was posed originally on LinkedIn
